This Wednesday (5th) the Civil Police of Mato Grosso do Sul reconstructed the stages that led to the death and dismemberment of soccer player Hugo Vinícius Skulny Pedrosa, 19. In the morning, the work focused on the house of the former girlfriend, student Rubia Joice de Oliver Luvisetto, 21, arrested on Monday (3) suspected of involvement with the homicide. It was there, according to her, that the boy would have been shot dead.

Rubia Luvisetto’s defense claims that she was not involved in the crime. Pedrosa had disappeared early on Sunday (2). Parts of the body were found in the Iguatemi river in Sete Quedas (468 km from Campo Grande). Preliminary recognition was made possible by the tattoo on the right forearm.

Teams from the Civil and Military Police closed the block of the house where Luvisetto lives. During the afternoon, the reconstruction proceeded to the rural area, on the stretch of river where the body parts were found.

The reconstruction confronts the version presented by her and by Cleiton Torres Vobeto, the Little Man, a friend of the young woman who was also in the house when the player was killed. He testified and is free. The police did not say why he was not arrested or whether he has a lawyer – the report tried to speak with the boy by phone, without success.

The player’s ex-girlfriend was arrested on the 3rd, after presenting herself to the police and saying that Pedrosa was killed with a shot fired by Danilo Alves Vieira da Silva, 19. The police did not say whether he is considered a fugitive. The report was unable to locate him.

Initially, Luvisetto was indicted for concealing a corpse. The student underwent a custody hearing on Tuesday night. According to lawyer Felipe Cazuo Azuma, as there are no women’s cells in Sete Quedas, the suspect was transferred to Iguatemi, a neighboring town.

Azuma presented a document to the police stating that the student would not participate in the reenactment. According to the lawyer, in addition to the risk to her physical integrity, due to the great repercussion of the facts, “there is an inversion in the investigation”, with a mistaken interpretation of the facts.

“My client turned herself in to the police, cooperated and was arrested; what she said was not taken into account,” said Azuma.

The lawyer also questions the fact that the treatment given to Vobeto was different: both he and his client were at the house at the time of the murder and both said they were threatened by the shooter, but only she was detained.

The murder

To the Civil Police, the boy said he has been friends with the young woman for nine years. On Saturday night (24), he went to a party in the Paraguayan city of Pindoty Porá, in the border region, and found her there.

At dawn, they went to her house. The next day, Vobeto would enjoy a ride home.

At this point, the friends’ versions are divergent. Luvisetto said that, when leaving the party, he gave Vobeto and Silva a ride. The boy claims that only he and his friend went to her house.

The girl says she was the only one to witness Silva kill the player. The suspect is her ex-boyfriend, with whom she maintained friendship and had sporadic sexual relations. According to her account, the two were sleeping in the bedroom when they were woken up by the player in the house, turning on the light and saying that she was a slut.

She said, then, that she would have pushed the athlete to the door of the house to leave. According to her account, Silva arrived from behind, armed, and fired a shot at Pedrosa.

At that moment the friend would have woken up.

Both Luvisetto and Vobeto say they were threatened with death by Silva, who demanded that they not tell anyone what had happened.

The boy still claims that he was forced to help Silva hide the corpse. The player’s body was placed in the girl’s car, and the two men went to a farm, close to the border of Tacuru (MS).

There, Vobeto says he witnessed the other boy remove Pedrosa from the vehicle and shoot two more shots in the victim’s forehead. Afterwards, alone, Silva would have pushed the body into the river.

The boy told the Civil Police that he was surprised to discover that the player had been dismembered, as he denies that this had been done. He was the one who pointed out the place where the victim was thrown.

On Tuesday, the Fire Department ended the search for Pedrosa’s remains. A team made up of seven firefighters, including logistical support and divers, swept the Iguatemi River for about 180 km and nothing was found.

According to the corporation, with what was found, it was already possible to identify the victim and the materiality of the fact was proven, that is, qualified homicide. The remains were taken to the IML (Legal Medical Institute) in Ponta Porã.
