Police find bodies of suspects of executing doctors in RJ

Late Thursday night (5), the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police found the bodies of two drug dealers who are suspected of being the perpetrators of the shots that killed three doctors in a kiosk in Barra da Tijuca.

They were in two cars located in the West Zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro along with two other bodies also belonging to drug traffickers, three in one vehicle and one in another, close to RioCentro and in the Gardênia Azul region.

The suspects of executing the three doctors are Philip Motta Pereira, known as Lesk, and Ryan Nunes de Almeida, known as Ryan, according to the investigation. G1. The other two have not yet been identified.

The main line of investigation is that the three doctors were killed by mistake, in a dispute between drug traffickers and militiamen operating in the region. The target would be a militiaman who was mistaken for midfielder Perseu Ribeiro de Almeida, who would have the same physical characteristics.

The criminal mistaken for the doctor is identified by the Public Ministry of Rio, along with his father, as members of a militia that operates in Rio das Pedras, in the West Zone of the city. In December 2020, the alleged original target of the murder was placed under preventive arrest for the crime of criminal organization.

He was sentenced to sentence on September 25th of this year and lives on Avenida Lúcio Costa, on the same avenue where the doctors were murdered. His apartment is 750 meters from the kiosk where the crime took place.

In addition to Perseu, the traffickers’ actions also killed Diego Ralf Bomfim, brother of federal deputy Sâmia Bomfim (PSOL-SP), Marcos de Andrade Corsato and Daniel Sonnewend Proença, who was also in the group and survived the attack. He is admitted to a hospital in Rio with a condition considered stable.

At a press conference in Bahia, this Thursday (5), the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, stated that the Federal Police is working on the case – which could point to a possible political motivation for the massacre. Despite not giving further details, Dino stated that up to three lines of investigation are being studied by the police.

“At this moment, obviously, there is a clear view that this is an execution and not a property crime – due to the dynamics of the facts, this is well evidenced”, said Dino. “There are two or three lines of investigation being pursued. The fact that there is proximity to two federal deputies means that we have this presence of the Federal Police. He referred to deputy Sâmia Bomfim, sister of doctor Diego Ralf and deputy Glauber Braga (PSOL-RJ), who is Sâmia’s husband.

Earlier, the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL-RJ), also spoke about the case, saying that the crime “will not go unpunished” and that he determined the commitment of the city’s Civil Police to resolve the circumstances of the attacks .
