Recent operations by the Federal Police found that organized crime has used new routes across the country to transport drugs to points on the coast where the product is transported — mainly destined for Europe.

The rearrangement follows a logic also seen on a regional scale. South American countries previously considered safe have seen an expansion of drug trafficking in recent years; In the case of Ecuador, the situation evolved into an explosion of violence that contributes to the current security crisis.

In Brazil, disputes between factions linked to new drug trafficking routes are already impacting violence rates and transforming the reality of locations in states such as Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul. In addition to monitoring the situation in neighboring countries, the PF aims to strengthen investigation groups and strangle the financial arm of organized crime.
