Players and clubs pay tribute to Coritiba director Júnior Chávare

The death of Coritiba’s football director, Junior Chávare, this Sunday morning (18), at the age of 57, shook Brazilian football. Coritiba players and clubs across the country used social media to pay tribute to the manager.
Atletiba’s rival this Sunday (18), at Couto Pereira, Athletico issued a note of condolence over the death of Chávare. Coxa decided to keep competing in the classic, in honor of the director.
“Athletico Paranaense received, with deep sadness, the news of the death of José Domingos Chávare Júnior, executive director of football at Coritiba”, says the note. “Athletico offers solidarity in this moment of deep sadness and wishes strength to friends, family and all members of Coritiba”, he continues.
The former director of Furacão, Alexandre Mattos, revealed deep sadness at the news of Chávare’s death. “Completely devastated by the passing of my dear friend, Júniro Chávare. One of the best professionals, super victorious, who I had the honor of living with and learning a lot from. Great man, friend, father,” he wrote on Instagram.
Current red-black CEO, Alex Leitão said it was a sad day for football. “The reflection remains, we work in an industry that imposes enormous pressure, internally and externally. It would be good for us to start looking at this very carefully. May God comfort those who remain”, he posted.
O Atlético-MG, the club where Chávare worked between 2019 and 2021, also expressed regret. “Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the professional.”

Coritiba squad pays tribute to Chávare
