I don’t watch BBB 24. Not as a matter of principle, because I consider it low-quality entertainment – ​​the volume of low-quality entertainment that I consume is torrential, with pleasure and without guilt. I simply find it boring. I saw the first two editions and got tired.

Following it on social media, however, is something inescapable. Even without chasing it, I end up knowing what’s going on in the program.

The edition that debuted this week features Wanessa (is she Camargo again or can’t she use it?). A very rich and famous woman who decided to be locked up with a bunch of idiots in search of fame and a few million, for unfathomable reasons of the soul (or career planning).

Wanessa is vegan. This makes BBB 24 especially interesting.

We know that Big Brother is, more than a competition, a sadistic experiment in supervised and manipulated confinement. The challenge of following veganism in such conditions will lead to conflict situations.

It has already started to pay off, in fact.

A guy named Davi thought about adding pepperoni to the beans in everyone’s meal, Wanessa included. Confronted with the allegation that she wouldn’t eat it, he candidly argued: “just take it out.”

In the world of ordinary people, misunderstanding of veganism (vegetarianism too) is widespread.

I once went to a restaurant in São Paulo with a vegetarian friend. He ordered pasta in tomato sauce, after checking with the waiter that the dish did not contain meat.

The food arrived. The friend found a piece of bacon. He called the waiter. The waiter, in pure innocence, replied that it wasn’t meat, it was bacon.

A multitude of people do not understand that sausage is meat, that canned tuna is meat, that ham is meat. As for veganism, the concept does not enter the minds of a huge portion of the population.

As an example, they wanted to “buy” lactose-free milk for Wanessa at BBB. They include vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, light, diet and kosher.

There are a series of crossroads in the destiny of Wanessa’s veganism in the program.

Will production make it easier for her by adapting the menu? If I were them, I would do just the opposite.

Will participants facilitate? I bet not, because the spirit of the game is every man for himself, finger in the eye and shouting.

The question that interests me most concerns Wanessa’s conduct. If she is not eliminated early, will she persevere in veganism?

There are many vegetarians and vegans who kick the bucket when they have difficulty following their diet. Insistence depends largely on the person’s commitment to the diet.

Wanessa, according to what I researched, became vegan under the influence of her boyfriend, (censored by the legal department) Dado Dolabella. And the BBB is a factory of difficulties.

With the plate of pasta and bacon in front of me, my vegetarian friend separated the pieces of pork and ate the rest. Months later, when I met him again, we went for a steak together.

I suspect the same process will happen with Wanessa. It’s what’s best for her, strategically speaking. Sticking to veganism will double your troubles in the dispute.
