PL that requires the installation of the ‘Panic Button’ in public transport is approved at the CMM

Project now goes to the sanction of the mayor of Manaus, David Almeida
It was approved on Wednesday (5), at the City Council of Manaus (CMM), the Bill (PL) that obliges the implementation of physical push buttons to the police by drivers and collectors on buses in Manaus. Authored by councilor Lissandro Breval (Avante), the PL aims to inhibit the activities of criminals in public transport, and now goes to the mayor’s sanction.
“We were able to approve the PL and now we need to start work here. We need to go to the mayor, establish a dialogue so that the panic button is actually implemented. It is up to him to sanction and give due direction. We created a legal environment here, but we urgently need to have a safer environment for the population. A young man died this week, how many more must die? I believe in the mayor’s sensitivity to the sanction of this PL”, said Breval.
With the sanction of the mayor, bus lines in the capital must have a device integrated with the police and will allow immediate activation in cases of approaches by criminals.
“We got to the point where criminals have preferred lines. This is absurd. My objective here is to act, to put the Chamber in a position of effective collaboration in the fight against these episodes”, concluded Lissandro.
