PL deputies and Tarcísio discuss and Bolsonaro needs to intervene: lack of political experience

The PL deputies criticized the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), for supporting the tax reform project, which was discussed again in the Chamber of Deputies this Thursday afternoon (6) and should be voted on in the first round at night.

The party gathered its members in the morning to close the question about how the 99 deputies on the bench will vote – whether in favor or against – and invited Freitas to participate. However, when presenting his reasons for supporting the project, he was repeatedly interrupted by allies of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is against the project.

Right at the beginning of the explanation, Freitas had to interrupt his speech in the face of criticism from his supporters, to which the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, had to intervene, followed by Bolsonaro.

“Tarcísio does not have the political experience that many of you have. We do not want, in this proposal that is there, to say that it will be improved by amendments. Amendment has no guarantee of approval. […] You can’t do the box office”, said the former president, noting that he spent 28 years in Congress and a conclusion was never reached on the tax reform.

Bolsonaro criticized the rush to vote on the project that has “more than 100 pages” and asked for a few more days for analysis. “I spoke with Arthur Lira and he told me that he will conclude the text around 6 pm. I cannot read this proposal and understand it without a good coach on my side, and most of you are the same, ”he said.

Freitas said that the right cannot “lose the narrative” of being in favor of tax reform. “The big question is to build a good text”, he said, interrupted again by Bolsonaro that “he doesn’t approve anything without [o partido] be united”. Tarcísio de Freitas agreed and said he was not advocating a vote this Thursday (6).

“Okay, if you think it’s not important, don’t vote”, added the governor of São Paulo.
