Saullo Vianna proposes extending benefits to people with mobility difficulties

Manaus (AM) — Federal Deputy Saullo Vianna (União-AM) presented Bill no. 3156/2023, which proposes to expand the rights of people with autism, people with down syndrome, fibromyalgia, lupus, rare diseases, among other diseases.

With the measure, this public will be guaranteed priority service and exclusive vacancies in companies or concessionaires that transport passengers.

“We need to expand the range of priority services, since the agility in providing care to these people prioritizes their well-being, making life easier for them and their families in society”

claimed Saullo Vianna, a parliamentarian who was notable for focusing many of his projects and actions on People with Disabilities (PCDs).

Approved, the PL grants differentiated treatment to people with reduced mobility or anyone who, due to some specific condition, has a limitation in their autonomy, such as autistic, obese, people with down syndrome, fibromyalgia, lupus, rare diseases.

Public companies or passenger transport concessionaires are obliged, as of the application of the measure, to use all available technology, such as signage, signs and posters, as instruments of communication about the content of the law, in order to guarantee priority service . The proposal also provides that companies have, in their public service teams, employees prepared to serve these passengers.
