PIS/Pasep: Caixa and BB pay the last batch of 4.2 million today – 07/17/2023 – Market

Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil pay the last batch of the PIS/Pasep 2023 salary bonus this Monday (17). About 4.2 million workers will receive the benefit, a value of R$ 4.2 billion released by the MTE (Ministry of Labor and Employment).

Professionals from private companies born in November and December and civil servants with registration ending in 8 or 9 who carried out formal activity in 2021, base year of payment, with income of up to two minimum wages are entitled to the benefit.

Caixa will release R$ 3.6 billion to more than 3.6 million formal workers in private companies. Banco do Brasil will pay R$627 million to more than 544,000 employees.

So far, in five batches, the government has already paid benefits to 20 million workers, totaling R$ 20.2 billion released.

Caixa also continues to make payment of PIS/Pasep quotas available to those who worked between 1971 and 1988 and who have not yet withdrawn the money. There are 9.1 million workers entitled to PIS quotas, and 1.4 million to Pasep.

The money will be available until August 5, through the FGTS (Service Time Guarantee Fund) application and the amounts are also paid to the heirs.

HOW MUCH IS IT POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE?

With the increase in the minimum wage to R$1,320 on May 1st, the amount of the salary allowance changed, ranging from R$110 to R$1,320. The professional needs to comply with the program rules to receive the benefit and the amount paid varies according to the months worked in the base year.

The worker who, in the base year of 2021, is entitled to the PIS/Pasep allowance:

• Performed paid activity with a formal contract for at least 30 days in 2021
• Received up to two minimum wages, on average
• You have been enrolled in the PIS/Pasep for at least five years
• Had their data correctly informed by the employer in Rais and eSocial

HOW IS THE PIS ALLOWANCE PAYMENT?

Anyone who has a checking or savings account at Caixa receives the credit automatically. It is also possible by crediting Caixa Tem, in a digital social savings account.

The allowance can be withdrawn in person at ATMs, lottery outlets and at CAIXA Aqui correspondents using the Social Card and password or at Caixa branches, presenting an official identification document.

HOW IS THE PASEP ALLOWANCE PAYMENT?

Those who have a checking or savings account at Banco do Brasil receive the credit automatically. For those who don’t have it, the withdrawal must be made at the cash desk at any Banco do Brasil branch.
