The trip began this Monday, in Florida (USA), and its itinerary includes a visit to the so-called “exclusive island of Safadão in the Bahamas”.

The website claims that the cheapest cabins, without a window, cost R$ 5,408 per person.

However, according to the Constitution, the mid-year parliamentary recess would only begin on the 18th of July and would run until the 31st of July, but that would only happen if the Chamber and the Senate had approved the budgetary guidelines bill in time, which did not happen and nor is it expected to happen.

Despite this, congressmen had already agreed to take the day off anyway, the so-called “white recess”. With the anticipation promoted by Lira, informal vacations will be longer, rising from two to three weeks.

Last week, as president of the Chamber, it fell to the deputy from Alagoas to call for a “concentrated effort” of the parliamentarians in Brasília for this week, from Monday to Friday, with the prediction of votes on the fiscal framework, the new Carf rules, and the Reform Tax.

Lira took the lead in processing the Reform, as a priority, and approved it, along with Carf, but left the framework for August.
