PGR defends filing action against deputy André Fernandes

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) defended this Monday (10) the shelving of an inquiry that determines whether federal deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE) incited the acts of January 8. The parliamentarian is the author of the request that requested the opening of the CPMI on January 8th.
Last week, Fernandes’ defense asked for the case to be closed. The understanding of the PGR contradicts that of the Federal Police, which saw evidence of crime in posts by the parliamentarian. The Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Carlos Frederico Santos, argued that there is no evidence to justify the investigation.
“It is evident that a publication on a social network can indeed lead to an influence causing a criminal outcome, but, in this case, replicating content already known by thousands makes it impossible to know the level of influence of the investigated posture, which makes causality , in case of eventual continuation of the criminal prosecution, just an unprovable supposition”, wrote Santos.
