The Federal Police carried out 34 warrants this Thursday (29) in the 25th phase of Operation Lesa Pátria against those suspected of financing and promoting the acts of January 8, 2023, in Brasília. The operation is carried out in 7 states and the Federal District.

There are 24 search and seizure warrants, three preventive arrest warrants and seven electronic monitoring warrants issued by the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The actions take place in Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais, Tocantins, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Espírito Santo and the Federal District.

Preventive arrest warrants are served in São Paulo (1) and in the Federal District (2). The first information indicates that the target in the federal capital is a supermarket businessman who allegedly financed the camp set up in front of the Army Headquarters between November 2022 and January 2023 — he is also the target of search and seizure.

The targets of monitoring with electronic ankle bracelets are located in Paraná, with three warrants; São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso do Sul, with one in each state. These warrants are to place the device on these people, which is unusual in this type of operation.

It was also determined that the assets, assets and values ​​of those investigated were unavailable to compensate the government for the damage caused to the headquarters of the Three Powers. It is estimated that the damage to public property could reach R$40 million.

The first images released by the PF indicate, among the warrants executed, the seizure of two weapons, documents and cell phones.

According to the PF, those under investigation may be charged with the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d’état, qualified damage, criminal association, incitement to crime, destruction and deterioration or destruction of specially protected property.
