PF seeks alleged financiers of invasion and attack at Brasília airport

On the morning of this Thursday (6), the Federal Police carried out six search and seizure warrants against suspects of allegedly financing the invasion of a restricted area of ​​the Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport, in Brasília, and the attempt to attack the bomb near the terminal. , in December last year.

The investigation, according to the PF, refers to what happened on the 2nd and 8th of December, when “several people invaded the restricted access area and adjacent areas of JK International Airport, causing a series of inconveniences to air safety and airport service”.

The warrants are fulfilled in the Federal District and in the cities of Marabá (PA) and Água Boa (MT). On social media, Minister Flávio Dino, of Justice, said that the operation investigates “criminal acts of coup d’état and political terrorism, in this case the invasion of Brasília airport in December of last year”.

Those involved are investigated for the crimes of attacking the safety of maritime, river or air transport; crime of attack against the security of public utility service and criminal association.

Accused of attack wanted to “create chaos”

Arrested in the act on the day of the attempted attack on the federal capital’s airport, George Washington de Oliveira Sousa, said in a statement to the Civil Police that the plan for the attack would be to create “chaos” and lead to the declaration of a state of siege in the country and the intervention by the Armed Forces.

During a state of siege, individual rights and guarantees are suspended to facilitate dealing with a situation of “serious commotion with national repercussions”. With that, Sousa’s objective would be to avoid what he called the installation of communism in the country.

Sousa is from Pará and traveled to Brasília to join protesters against the election of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). In his testimony, the accused would have confirmed that other people from the camp set up in front of the Army Headquarters would have helped in the attempted explosion.

The Federal Police is investigating the attempt to invade the restricted area of ​​the airport at the beginning of the month.
