Bolsonaristas ironize Tarcísio’s retreat on tax – 07/06/2023 – Panel

Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), son of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and other supporters of the former president published messages on social networks mocking the retreat of governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) in relation to the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) of tax reform.

The former minister had been one of the leaders of the group of governors who fought the centralized collection of the new tax that will replace the state ICMS and the municipal ISS, under the argument of loss of autonomy.

This Wednesday (5), the governor changed his position, started to admit centralized collection and then became the target of ironic publications by Bolsonaristas. Alongside Fernando Haddad, Minister of Finance, with whom he had held a meeting, Tarcísio said he agreed “with 95% of the reform”.

In an institutional video released by Republicans, Tarcísio says that the proposal is the “lever” for the country to take a leap and grow.

With the new position of the governor of São Paulo, in addition to the support of parties that had been showing resistance, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), managed to start the discussion of the PEC in the plenary of the House on the night of Wednesday (5).

On social media, Eduardo Bolsonaro wrote: “I’m not 95%, I’m 100% against the PT’s tax reform”, and listed the problems he sees in the proposal.

Federal deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP) shared a report from the Politics 360 website that shows the parties most benefited from the release of amendments and wrote that he is “95% convinced that there is something very wrong in the kingdom of Denmark”.

Bolsonaro’s advisor, Fabio Wajngarten published: “95% I love São Paulo. I am 95% against the green agenda. No to Tax Reform. No to Lula’s Reform. No to PT Reform”.

State deputy Gil Diniz (PL-SP) wrote that Bolsonaro “spent almost three decades in the Federal Chamber and knows how ‘the band plays’ there. More than 95% of the time he got it right and I’m together with the Captain once again , Captain Bolsonaro.”

On Wednesday night (5), Bolsonaro criticized the tax reform, said that the project goes against what was done in his government and that, if he were a deputy, he would vote against everything that came from the PT. The text of the reform is an initiative of the National Congress.
