PF performs operation against 3 more involved in coup acts on January 8 – 02/03/2023 – Power

This Friday morning (3) the Federal Police carried out the fourth phase of the operation Lesa Pátria to arrest three people involved in the coup acts of January 8.

In addition to the arrests, the police are executing 14 search and seizure warrants at addresses of suspects in the invasion of the buildings of the three Powers.

The action was authorized by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court.

One of the targets of the arrest warrant is Lucimário Benedito Camargo, president of the Chamber of Shopkeepers in Rio Verde (GO).

Mário Furacão, as he is known, recorded a video during the invasion of the Planalto Palace. In it, the businessman states that “the people will not let thieves govern any more, nor drug traffickers, much less communists.”

“The Brazilian people going up the ramp, entering the Palace more and more and the soldiers throwing bombs at the people, these cowards”, he says in another part of the recording.

The objective of the PF’s new attack is to proceed with the investigation to identify the participants in the acts and people who financed or encouraged the coup attempt by Bolsonaristas.

The measures are complied with in the states of Rondônia, Goiás, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Mato Grosso and in the Federal District.

Those involved are investigated, according to the PF, for the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law, coup d’état, qualified damage, criminal association, incitement to crime, destruction and deterioration or destruction of specially protected property.
