PF dismantles network responsible for false audio against David Almeida

According to investigation, the audio was professionally created by a designer who works for three advertising companies

Manaus (AM) — The Federal Police (PF) began, on Friday (9), Operation Nirmata, in Manaus. The objective of the action is to investigate the authors involved in creating electoral defamation against Mayor David Almeida using artificial intelligence, where an audio with David’s voice cursed municipal teachers, calling them “bums” for demanding payment. from the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and the Valorization of Education Professionals (Fundeb).

The person responsible for the operation and head of the Human Rights and Institutional Defense Department of the Federal Police in Amazonas, Rafael Grummt, took stock of the first phase. According to investigation, the audio was professionally created by a designer who works for three advertising companies.

The three advertising companies, partners of the companies and two sharers of “fake news”, were targets of search and seizure warrants. Computer media were seized, as well as the suspects summoned to testify at the Federal Police Superintendence. The material will undergo forensic examination, which must identify the designer’s connection with the companies.

Investigations indicate that the material may have been ordered to harm the mayor.

“At this first moment, we understand that there is a professionalization with the clear objective of defaming the mayor of Manaus”,

said the delegate.

Investigations will continue to elucidate the possible perpetrators of the crime. According to the PF, the operation works with the hypothesis of political groups participating in the crime.

“These companies have public relations with certain political groups. In the financial statements there is a link with the electoral party”, he pointed out.

According to the delegate, investigations remain in the initial phase. Two people are also being investigated for possible links to the crime.
