Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro was the target of a request to break bank and tax secrecy by the Federal Police (PF), according to information published this Saturday (12) by CNN.
On Friday (11), it was announced that former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) had already been the subject of a similar request.
The report of People’s Gazette contacted the PF, which does not officially confirm the information about Michelle Bolsonaro. The advisory of the former first lady says she was not communicated about the fact.
The breaches of secrecy occur within the scope of Operation Lucas 12:2, which investigates the alleged undue receipt of official gifts, such as jewelry from the Saudi Arabian government, which were not incorporated into the Union’s assets.
On Friday morning, the PF carried out a search and seizure against Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid and his father, General Lourena Cid, as well as other figures close to the Bolsonaro family.
The ex-president’s defense stated in a statement on Friday that he “never appropriated or embezzled any public assets, making his bank transactions available to the Judiciary.”
According to the defense, the jewelry and gifts were handed over voluntarily, in March of this year, along with a petition submitted to the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU). “On the facts aired today in the national press vehicles, the defense of President Jair Bolsonaro voluntarily and without being urged, petitioned the TCU – still in mid-March, pp -, requesting the deposit of the items in that Court , until the final decision on his treatment, which in fact was done”.
