PF arrests security officer on January 8 – 02/07/2023 – Power

This Tuesday morning (7) the Federal Police are carrying out arrest and search and seizure warrants in the fifth phase of the Lesa Pátria operation, which targets those involved in the January 8 coup attacks.

All measures are complied with in the Federal District and are within the line of investigation of the PF that investigates the possible omission of authorities during the attacks.

In all, three arrest warrants, one preventive arrest warrant and six search and seizure warrants issued by the STF (Federal Supreme Court) are served.

One of those arrested is Colonel Jorge Eduardo Naime Barreto, then head of the Operational Department of the Federal District’s Military Police.

Colonel Jorge Naime was the head of the sector responsible for drawing up the security plan in the federal capital to prevent coup attacks. He was exonerated from the post after the anti-democratic acts.

It is on this investigation front that Anderson Torres, former Minister of Justice of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and the governor removed from the DF Ibaneis Rocha (MDB) are investigated.

In addition to this line of omitted authorities, the attacks are also investigated by the Federal Police on three other fronts.

One looks at possible intellectual authors, and it is this front that can reach Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Another aims to map the funders and those responsible for the logistics of the camp and transporting Bolsonaristas to Brasília.

The third focus of the PF investigation is vandals. Investigators want to identify and individualize the conduct of each of those involved in the depredation of historic buildings in the federal capital.
