The Federal Police (PF) arrested this Friday (29), in Marabá (PA), a medical student suspected of having taken the National High School Exam (Enem) in the place of at least two other candidates. The arrest is part of operation Passe Livre, launched on February 16 of this year.

The student was identified as André Rodrigues Ataíde, 23 years old, who is studying medicine at the State University of Pará (Uepa).

According to the PF, the student would have been taken from Marabá to the state capital to hide in a family home. After legal procedures at the Federal Police Superintendency in Pará, Ataíde was sent to the Penal System.

Investigations indicate that he would have taken the test for a relative, in 2022; and to a long-time friend, in 2023. André allegedly forged his signature when signing the Enem tests. In both episodes of fraud, the candidates were approved.

André was a medical student at the Universidade do Estado Pará (UEPA) on the Marabá campus, in the southeast of Pará. He had a good academic record of grades. UEPA decided to suspend the three medical students investigated by the Federal Police.

To the portal G1the student’s lawyer Diego Adriano Freires, claims that “the arrest is an extremely serious and disproportionate measure, considering that the student André has contributed to the police authority since the beginning of the investigations. He will immediately request the revocation of his client’s arrest “.
