Petrobras reported that it signed a new addendum to the natural gas purchase contract with Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), a Bolivian state-owned company that operates in the area of exploration, production and sale of oil and derivatives.

According to the Brazilian company, the contract was signed after compliance with internal governance procedures. The amendment changes the delivery profile of the total volume of gas contracted by Petrobras, depending on the availability of gas for export by YPFB.

Maximum volume

The contract provides for the maintenance of a maximum volume of 20 million m³ per day, with greater flexibility in firm delivery and receipt commitments according to seasonality and supply availability.

According to Petrobras reported on Friday night (15), the terms guarantee “a supply in contractual balance for the companies and the possibility of additional sales of gas by YPFB to other Brazilian importers.

Furthermore, [há] greater security and predictability of gas supply to the market served by Petrobras”.
