Perillo appoints mayors to head the PSDB of SP – 03/13/2024 – Panel

The national president of the PSDB, Marconi Perillo decided to appoint the mayor of Santo André, Paulo Serra, as president of the party’s directory in the state of São Paulo. He thus returns to the position he held on a provisional basis until the beginning of this month.

Furthermore, he will appoint the mayor of Ribeirão Preto, Duarte Nogueira, to lead the PSDB-Cidadania federation in the state.

The decisions, according to him, were taken after consultation and approval by the Tucana National Executive.

“The decision was taken in common agreement with the majority of the party in São Paulo. We will resume our reconstruction work in the state and I am sure we will have excellent electoral results this year,” said Perillo.

The decision is another chapter in the never-ending crisis in the PSDB in the state. Serra had been provisionally appointed as president of the São Paulo directory at the end of last year by the then president of the party, Eduardo Leite.

On the 7th, a convention chose Marco Vinholi to replace him, but the decision was revoked by Perillo on the grounds that there were formal irregularities in the process.

The feud exposes a dispute over the party’s direction. Vinholi is linked to the group of former governor João Doria, who is no longer in the party, while Perillo and Serra adopt the discourse that it is necessary to renew the PSDB.
