PCC planned to kill and kidnap officials; Moro was a target

On the morning of this Wednesday (22), the Federal Police carried out 11 arrest warrants and 24 search and seizure warrants in four states of the country against a criminal organization that intended to carry out attacks against public servants and authorities. Senator Sérgio Moro (União Brasil-PR) was one of the targets of the group, according to information confirmed by the congressman’s advisory to the People’s Gazette.
Operation Sequaz investigations found that the group intended to commit crimes such as homicides and extortion through kidnapping in the Federal District and in the states of Paraná, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and Rondônia. The operation itself fulfills the warrants in these last four states.
According to the PF, the attacks would occur simultaneously, and the main investigated are in Paraná and São Paulo. Flávio Dino, Minister of Justice, confirmed that the targets would be a senator and a prosecutor.
“A homicide plan against several public agents was investigated and identified (including a senator and a prosecutor). Today, the Federal Police are carrying out arrests and searches against this gang,” said Minister Flávio Dino, of Justice, in a post on twitter.
Sérgio Moro said, through social networks, that “on the PCC’s retaliation plans against me, my family and other public agents, I will make a statement in the afternoon on the Senate tribune. For now, thanks to PF, PM/PR [Polícia Militar do Paraná]Senate and Chamber legislative police, PM/SP [Polícia Militar de São Paulo]MPE/SP [Ministério Público Estadual de São Paulo]and to its directors for their support and work”.
The discovery of the criminal organization and the carrying out of the operation occur one day after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said that he intended to take revenge on the former judge when he was imprisoned in the Federal Police jail in Curitiba, between 2018 and 2018. 2019, where he spent 580 days in detention. Moro was responsible for the conviction that led him to prison in the process related to the Guarujá triplex, which would have been acquired with bribe money from the construction company OAS.
The operation is carried out by around 120 agents and has already seized a luxury car and motorcycle, cash kept in a safe, watches and chains.
