PCC followed Moro in the election and attack was imminent, says PF – 03/23/2023 – Politics

The Federal Police claims in an arrest warrant sent to the court that the plan of attack by the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) against former minister and current senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR) was imminent and that the faction monitored places where the former minister attended.

One of the places monitored was the club in Curitiba where he voted in the 2022 election. The information was used as a basis for Operation Sequaz, launched by the PF on Wednesday (22).

The investigators began their investigation based on the testimony of a former member of the PCC who became a protected witness of the Justice of São Paulo.

It was he who reported the ex-minister’s kidnapping plan, later taken to Federal Police investigators.

On Wednesday, the PF carried out 11 arrest warrants and a series of steps to dismantle a plan that would be underway to attack authorities, including Moro.

This Thursday (23), President Lula said, regarding the case: “I think it’s another set up by Moro.”

One of the reasons for the faction’s attack would be the ordinance signed by Moro, when he was Minister of Justice, which maintained rigidity in the federal penitentiary system. The document was signed on the same day that faction leaders were transferred from São Paulo to federal prisons, in February 2019.

The gang even made a detailed reconnaissance of Moro’s polling place. This survey included a description of the entrances, existing cameras on site, security and access route.

The investigation also found images of the building where Moro lived in Paraná on the cell phone of one of the investigated.

According to the PF, the PCC’s plan had been in progress since last year; in February, the outcome was imminent.

“Corroborating the imminence of the plan, the main investigated, named Janeferson and his partner named Aline Lima Paixão, changed residence at the beginning of February, seeking to register all data on behalf of third parties, notoriously to try to remain invisible when the commission of very serious crimes”, says the PF.

Known as Nefo, NF or Dodge, Janeferson is appointed by the PF as responsible for “organizing, financing, planning and executing the kidnapping/attack” against Moro.

He would be a member of Restricted 05, the top cell of the PCC. Among other information, the PF mapped how he participated in the rental of properties in Curitiba during the execution of the plan.

One of these houses was located between the law office of Deputy Rosângela Moro, wife of the senator, and an old family property near the current residence.

“We verified that the criminals were in farms in the Contenda and São José dos Pinhais regions, as well as renting a residence very close to the addresses of the Senator in question. subsidize this attack against the Brazilian State”, says the PF in the representation forwarded to Justice.

To avoid the police, PCC members used a “closed circuit” by exchanging telephone numbers almost weekly.

Even so, the PF managed to monitor even video calls from the members of Restricta 5.

According to the PF, another person involved would be Claudinei Carias, responsible for “surveillances and surveys on Senator Sergio Moro, including the rendering of accounts that he presented since the middle of last year”.

The notes indicate that the plan to kidnap the senator foresaw costs of at least R$564,500. Expenses would involve BRL 110,000 in rifles and BRL 90,000 in two cars, among other items.

Among the vehicles that would be used in the criminal enterprise was an armored Mercedes, points out the inquiry.

In another note, there was the control of these expenses such as “apartment, travel, food, fuel, farm rent, home furniture, vehicles (Hilux), mason for safe (weapons hiding place)”, among others.

Another note found in the investigations had the senator’s personal information, such as addresses, family members’ names, telephone number, daughter’s e-mail and information from her declaration of assets.
