The Minister of the Social Communication Secretariat, Paulo Pimenta, said that he contacted the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) this Tuesday (31) with a request for action in relation to a post by volleyball player Wallace Leandro de Souza, formerly athlete of the Brazilian national team.

The player shared on his Instagram, this Monday (30), the question of a follower: “Would you shoot Lula in the face with this 12 [espingarda?]”. In the post, Wallace posted a poll asking if anyone would do that. Shortly after the publication, he deleted the bet, but users of the social network removed print and started sharing on the platform.

“This post was made by @sadacruzeiro volleyball player, and former Brazilian national team athlete, Wallace Leandro, on his Instagram. I have already activated the AGU and we will take all the necessary measures. We will not tolerate threats made by extremists and coup plotters,” said the minister through his social network.

The athlete already published on his social network, this Tuesday, an apology for the publication. “I would never incite violence, under any circumstances, against anyone, especially our president,” he said. He noted that it was an “unfortunate post” and that it was not intended to incite violence. “I made a mistake and I’m here to apologize,” he said.
