The six federal deputies who want to leave União Brasil alleging persecution by the national leadership must remain in the party until there is a court decision. They ask for authorization to disaffiliate without risk of losing their mandate.
For five of them –Daniela Carneiro (Minister of Tourism), Chiquinho Brazão, Dani Cunha, Ricardo David and Marcos Soares– there is no problem in waiting until the party window, in 2026.
The exception is Juninho do Pneu, who has plans to run for mayor of Nova Iguaçu next year, and needs to have the case resolved by then. The group’s intention is to join the Republicans.
