Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said, in a statement to the Federal Police, that he personally spoke with former head of the Federal Revenue Julio Cesar Vieira Gomes about the jewelry held at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos. The kit, a gift from the government of Saudi Arabia, was valued at R$ 16.5 million. The information was released by TV Globo and the newspaper O Globo.
In the hearing, the former representative cites his former aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, who also testified about the case on the last 5th. had been declared.

On Monday (10), the Federal Revenue Service revoked the ordinance published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU) that released the dismissal of Julio Cesar from the position of tax auditor, who is the subject of a summary preliminary investigation in the internal affairs department of the body on the case. .
Bolsonaro told the PF that he only found out about the jewels seized by the Federal Revenue more than a year after the incident. As early as December 2022, he would have sent Cid to check what could be done with the jewels to avoid an alleged diplomatic embarrassment if the gifts from Saudi Arabia were to be auctioned. During the hearing, Bolsonaro also stressed that “he did not receive any gifts directly as President of the Republic” and that the gifts were delivered via aide or by the Itamaraty. He said he had no contact with the jewels.
