On the afternoon of this Friday (24) the para-athlete from Amapá Wanna Brito, aged 27, wrote another chapter in her story, after winning the gold medal in the shot put at the Parapan de Santiago, in Chile.
The Amapá native won the gold medal after reaching more than 7m in the throw. This is the first time that Wanna participates in the competition and has already achieved great results. The para-athlete competes in class F32 (for athletes with severe cerebral palsy) and is currently 1st in the world rankings in shot put and 2nd in the club throw in her class.
The native of Amapá recently broke the Americas record in the club throw and shot put at the Paralympic Athletics Circuit, in São Paulo. Wanna was also part of the Brazilian delegation at the Grand Prix Marrakesh 2023, where she won a gold and a silver medal.
