Pandemic effect is over, says industry – 06/04/2023 – Panel SA

Industry in São Paulo finally breathes a sigh of relief. After three years of the pandemic, the supply of inputs, such as steel and electronics (chips and other components) is back to normal.

Research carried out by Fiesp (Federation of Industries of São Paulo) reveals that, in April, 85.6% of industrialists reported that stocks are supplied —a situation maintained at this level since the end of last year.

Only 13.6% said they had some difficulty in purchasing inputs and 0.7% said they could not find steel or electronics.

With the coronavirus, there was disruption of production chains, especially in the automobile industry. Until last year, for example, the absence of chips reduced vehicle production in the country.

The problem even affected the US and contributed greatly to the rise in inflation.
