Alviverde from São Paulo remains the only team from São Paulo with more titles in the competition
This Wednesday (6), Palmeiras won their dodechampionship, the feat achieved by Verdão marks the 13th cup in the last ten years, five of these titles are from the Brazilian Championship.
The period coincides with the reformulation in the alviverde football department, which began in 2015, during the new era Palmeiras has already won: two Brazilian Cups (2015 and 2020), now, four Brazilians (2016, 2018 and 2022), two Libertadores (2020 and 2021), three Paulistas (2020, 2022 and 2023), one Recopa Sul-Americana (2022) and one Supercup of Brazil (2023).
The closest rival in the last ten years is Corinthians, with less than half the titles. Of the 12 titles, eight of them came under the command of Portuguese Abel Ferreira. The coach has now equaled Vanderlei Luxemburgo, as the second with the most cups in history. Oswaldo Brandão is the leader in this ranking, with 10 titles.
History
Santos and Flamengo were Brazilian champions eight times each, and Alviverde from São Paulo remains the only team from São Paulo with more than nine titles in the championship.
