For the sixth consecutive time, Palmeiras is in the Libertadores quarterfinals. This Wednesday (9), the alviverde team secured a goalless draw against Atlético Mineiro, at Allianz Parque, and secured the spot by winning the first match, at Mineirão, by 1-0.

Since 2018, the alviverde team has managed to remain among the eight best teams in the continental competition. That year, he was a semifinalist. In 2019, it fell in the quarterfinals. In the two following editions, he won the title, in 2020 and 2021. Last year, the Paulistas advanced to the semifinals.

It was also the third time that Palmeiras eliminated Atlético from the tournament. It was also like this in the 2021 semifinal and the 2022 quarterfinals.

As in the first duel against the miners, the dispute in São Paulo was tight, especially in the first half. Eliminated by Palmeiras, Atlético Mineiro joins Athletico Paraense, who also fell in the round of 16, eliminated by Bolívar (BOL).
