Minister Alexandre Padilha (Secretary of Institutional Relations) told the Sheet that the government “does not act on impulse” and that the situation of Minister Daniela Carneiro (Tourism), who asked the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to withdraw from União Brasil, will be analyzed by the Planalto Palace “with the necessary calm”.

“We are going to analyze with the necessary calm, not having any hasty measures on our part”, says the minister, who also highlighted the appreciation that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has for Daniela.

A wing of União Brasil moves to claim Daniela’s vacancy. The argument is that the Ministry of Tourism should have a name from the party. In this dispute is the president of the party, deputy Luciano Bivar (PE), who articulates to get a vacancy on the Esplanada.

Bivar’s allies say that, if he is chosen, he could guarantee more votes from União Brasil for the government in the Chamber.

According to the leader of the party in the House, Elmar Nascimento (BA), between 30 and 35 deputies on the bench, which has 59 members, are currently aligned with the government.

The minister and five other deputies from the União Brasil in Rio asked the TSE to declare that there is just cause for party disaffiliation, so that they do not receive punishments such as the loss of mandates in the Chamber. They also ask that the TV time and the party fund be transferred to the parliamentarians’ new parties.

On Monday night (10), Waguinho published a message on social networks announcing his affiliation with the Republicans, where he will command the Fluminense directory. The party, former ally of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in the 2022 election, has been approaching the current government.

Daniela is also negotiating affiliation with the acronym, which has received second- and third-rank positions in the government.
