The Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, said this Tuesday (4/4) that he had reached an agreement with the Chamber and the Senate to set up joint committees to vote on four provisional measures (MP).

The deputies and senators will analyze among the proposals, the one that deals with the structure of the Ministries, the one that changes the rules of the Tax Resources Administration Council (Carf) and the one for Minha Casa Minha Vida and Bolsa Família.

“We are going to work towards approving the content of all of them and prioritizing as the installation of a mixed commission those that parliamentarians want to debate: the recreation of ministries already has an agreement for a mixed commission at the beginning of next week”, said Padilha.

There are at least 12 MPs awaiting analysis by the National Congress, but the agreement on the joint commissions was only in relation to the 4 MPs. The other MPs must be absorbed as amendments to the most important ones or sent as bills with constitutional urgency.

The question of proportionality, about how many deputies or senators should make up the joint commission, is still an impasse between the two legislative houses. “The issue of proportionality at this moment does not have an agreement on it. I think this is a debate that will continue between the House and the Senate. Now, none of that, for what we have built, creates an obstacle to the approval of the 12 contents of Lula’s 12 PM”, he declared.
