Federal deputies Coronel Meire (PL-PE), Delegado Ramagem (PL-RJ), Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR) and senators Styvenson Valentim (Podemos-RN), Hamilton Mourão (Republicanos-RS) and Eduardo Girão (Novo- CE) will request, this Wednesday (29), the installation of a Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) to investigate the progress of criminal organizations in the country.

The request comes in the wake of attacks committed by criminal factions in Rio Grande do Norte for more than two weeks and plans discovered last week for the kidnapping of civil servants, authorities and politicians, such as Senator Sérgio Moro (União Brasil-PR) and Rosângela Moro (União Brasil-SP).

The parliamentarians intend to investigate the relationship of criminal organizations with the increase in homicide rates and the advance of drug trafficking activities, investigate their structures and functioning. And, based on the results, develop actions to prevent and confront organized crime.

The application will be presented on the afternoon of this Wednesday (29), in the Chamber of Deputies.
