Three search and seizure warrants and asset blockades were carried out this Tuesday morning (28) by the Federal Police against suspects of moving R$ 271 million in gold from illegal mining in Roraima.

According to the corporation, the Nau dos Quintos operation is investigating a group that used a building materials store in the state to move money from gold extracted in the Yanomami Indigenous Land.

“Analyses of the movement of those involved confirmed the suspicions, so that they would receive amounts from hundreds of individuals and legal entities related to the mineral trade. Some are even targets of other actions by the Federal Police”, says the police in a note.

Investigations point out that one of the suspects, the owner of the company, would have moved R$ 162 million. “The company, which regularly operates in the civil construction market, would also be used to move these illegal values”, completes the PF.

Another suspect, he says, would have moved more than R$ 12 million in his own bank accounts, with declared income being just R$ 40,000. In total, PF investigations point out that those involved would have moved R$ 271 million over a period of four years.
