OAB list for STJ has a woman again after 17 years – 07/12/2023 – Panel

Lawyer Daniela Teixeira, from the Federal District, is one of the names indicated on the six-fold list prepared by the OAB (Order of Lawyers of Brazil) for the vacancy open at the STJ (Superior Court of Justice), the first time that a woman is appointed to the put in 17 years.
The last woman to appear on the entity’s list was Maria Thereza de Assis Moura, in 2006. The Constitution provides that one third of ministers, in equal parts, alternately, is chosen between lawyers and members of the Public Ministry.
The last vacancies at the STJ for law were filled in 2011 from three all-male lists.
