Nunes wants to use Temer and vaccines to differentiate herself from Bolsonaro – 02/17/2024 – Panel

Mayor Ricardo Nunes’ (MDB) campaign for re-election seeks antidotes to Bolsonarista’s stigma, which should be reinforced after his likely trip to the event on Avenida Paulista on the 25th.
Among the ideas under analysis are reinforcing the presence of former president Michel Temer (MDB) in the pre-campaign, exalting his image as a democrat and “peacemaker”, a profile opposite to that of the former president.
Nunes’ emphasis on combating Covid-19 should also be remembered, when São Paulo was branded by the city hall as the “vaccine capital of the world”. This could help show differences between the mayor and Bolsonaro, who had a denialist attitude.
The mayor’s campaign put forward the strategy of reversing the criticism that “Nunes supports Bolsonaro” to “Bolsonaro is the one who supports Nunes”. In other words, the former president would only be part of a broad front for the re-election of the Emedebista.
