Nunes sues Salles for saying that there are thieves in management – 04/17/2023 – Panel

The Comptroller General of São Paulo, an agency of the municipal government, sent a letter to federal deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP) in which he asks him to pass on to the city administration the information he claims to have regarding possible corruption schemes.
As the Panel showed, Salles referred to Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) as “an icon of the centrão”, a bloc that he said was a cancer in politics. He said that one of the goals of his project to run for mayor in 2024 is to get “the thieves” out of mayoralty.
“The centrão is a metastasis, which is always there, stealing and rigging”, he said.
In the official letter, the controller requests that Salles forward “the elements available to substantiate such complaints, so that the corresponding appropriate measures can be adopted.”
Salles’ criticisms have as a backdrop his objective of taking the PL out of Nunes’ orbit and making his candidacy viable. Federal deputies Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) and Tabata Amaral (PSB) also intend to participate in the dispute.
