Nunes authorizes hiring of 7,742 teachers in SP – 01/19/2024 – Education

Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) authorized the call of 7,742 teachers to São Paulo’s municipal schools. The number is more than double the number predicted in the notice, which established the filling of 3,250 vacancies.

The authorization was published in the Official Gazette this Friday (19) and the call will be made from Tuesday (23). In total, 3,675 teachers will be called to work in early childhood education and in the initial years of primary education (from the 1st to the 5th year), and 4,067 for the final years (from the 6th to the 9th year) and secondary education.

The Municipal Department of Education did not inform why it doubled the number of hires foreseen in the competition. Seeking reelection to São Paulo City Hall, Nunes has until July 6 to make new appointments and hires, according to the electoral schedule.

With the release of a greater number of hires, almost all approved teachers should be called up for the second phase of the competition, which was the first to evaluate candidates with a practical test.

This stage included assessing whether they have the ability to plan classes, have good communication, master the content and have the ability to do the didactic transposition of the content to be taught.

“Those approved have demonstrated that they know how to teach a class and have mastered the content related to their area of ​​expertise”, said the secretariat in a statement.

Also according to the ministry, all those called up will have the remuneration practiced in the São Paulo municipal network, which has a minimum salary of R$ 5,339.79 for teachers working 40 hours a week. They can also receive a bonus for educational performance, which can reach up to R$6,000, and receive the GLT (Workplace Bonus), granted to those who choose to work in schools with a high turnover of professionals or in places that are difficult to access. .
