Neymar underwent surgery on his right ankle this Friday morning (10) at a hospital in Doha, Qatar. “The intervention went very well. The player will now follow a rest and care protocol”, announced PSG.
A doctor for Atlético-MG and for the Brazilian national team, Rodrigo Lasmar traveled to Qatar to participate in the procedure. The presence of the professional in the team responsible for the operation was a request from the attacker himself, due to the relationship of trust.
The surgery took place at Aspetar Hospital, in Doha, and Lasmar was accompanied by doctors Peter D’hoodge and James Calder.
The striker has been injured since February 20, when he suffered a sprain in a match against Lille for the French Championship. Ankle sprains were becoming routine for Neymar.
The striker suffered from the same problem during the World Cup at the end of last year and missed the Brazilian team for two games. Recurring injuries made PSG opt for surgery. The estimated recovery period is three to four months and he should no longer play this season.
