Striker Neymar was injured in training for the Brazilian national team this Wednesday morning (1st) and became a doubt for coach Tite for tomorrow’s friendly (2nd) against South Korea, at 8 am (Brasília time), in the capital Seoul. According to Rodrigo Lasmar, the team’s doctor, the number 10 suffered trauma to his right foot, after being stepped on during a ball dispute. The injured foot is the same one that the player injured three years ago.

“The first injury he had was a fracture in the fifth metatarsal, you remember it was the fifth toe, this time he had an injury more in the middle of the foot, more or less on top of the third metatarsal, and it swelled a lot”,

explained Lasmar during the press conference.

According to the doctor, the player has already started treatment, will remain under observation in the next few hours, and then will undergo a reassessment tomorrow (2). Neymar even posted a photo of his injured foot on Instagram.

The confrontation against South Korea this Thursday (2) will take place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, in the South Korean capital. The selection’s second friendly this month (Fifa Date) will be against Japan, next Monday (6th), at 7:20 am, at the National Stadium in Tokyo. The opening of the World Cup is scheduled for the 21st of November.
