New PSDB president talks about advancing exchanges and could weaken Eduardo Leite – 12/06/2023 – Panel

At a dinner with São Paulo councilors on Monday (4), the new president of the PSDB Marconi Perillo suggested holding the São Paulo municipal and state conventions in January and February, respectively.
However, the mandates of current presidents Orlando Faria (municipal) and Paulo Serra (state) are scheduled to end in April, as defined by former president Eduardo Leite (RS), with whom they are close.
The gesture was seen as an advance against the group of the governor of Rio Grande do Sul and opening space for the rise of the group of those close to João Doria, such as Rodrigo Garcia and Marco Vinholi.
At Monday’s meeting, for example, the councilors considered that holding the municipal convention in January would probably lead to the victory of Fernando Alfredo, an ally of Doria who was removed from command of the capital by Leite in October.
Perillo tells the column that he will work to unite the PSDB, that he will not make decisions alone and will consult the bench, the party’s Executive and Leite.
