Economist Jurandil Juarez understands that Amapá has reached a stage where the public authorities are in a position to encourage private initiative, which today is strong in the state, contrary to the past, when the government had to act directly in the economy.
Jurandil expressed his understanding at the beginning of the night of this Tuesday, 24, in an interview on the program ‘Meeting Point’ (Diary 90.9)as the new CEO of the Amapá Economic Development Agency, the popular Amapá Agency.
The CEO demonstrated that before the main engine of the Amapá economy, the state government moved commerce and other sectors with the payment of public servants. Today, he sees that the so-called paycheck economy is still in force, but no longer absolutely, since the private initiative already does very well the circulation of wealth.
“The economic agents in the primary and tertiary sectors work very well. Our informal work in Amapá is very strong, so that the public power still has a lot of influence, but it no longer exceeds 50% as it was before”illustrated the interviewee.
Jurandil also said that the path is the Northern Hemisphere, even more so now with globalization. He recalled that Amapá has been a federated unit for 80 years, but it has not matured, it did not know how to make the transition from territory to state, and that today it is experiencing a new cycle of history and economy.
The director-president of the Amapá Agency also observed that for the first time the people from Amapá do not see the displacement of political power from a situation to an opposition. “Today we have an implementation of our own guideline, continuity, so we can resolve issues such as land release, not letting the gigantism of public power hinder the economy, but make a strong private initiative, without impeding large investments”, foreshadowed.
