New PAC offers more investments to boost works in the North in 2024 – News of Brazil

The North Region is included in the New PAC (Growth Acceleration Program) with investments that will boost works in the seven states. Construction of sections, bridges, adjustments and restorations are among the improvements to be implemented in the coming years on highways and also in the waterway sector. The latter includes IP4 recovery, signaling and waterway dredging services.
For the state of Amapá, the year 2024 will be marked by the construction of the Santana IP4. This project – part of the list of works of the New PAC – is strategic and aims to meet the growing demands of the surrounding community, providing benefits that range from urban mobility to local socioeconomic development. Other important works for the state are the construction of the bridge over the Jari River, which will be implemented on BR-156/AP, which will connect the state of Amapá to the state of Pará, and progress with paving on BR-156/AP, which drives mobility and economic progress for the state. The construction of six lots of BR-156/AP, totaling more than 350 kilometers, between Laranjal do Jari and Oiapoque are listed in the Federal Government’s program.
DNIT investments for Amapá in 2023 were R$338.4 million. The resource, in addition to enabling road maintenance and conservation services to resume their pace, made it possible to move forward with works. In Amapá, heading services for the BR-156/AP Norte reinforced concrete bridges were resumed, restoring their functionality to the crossings. The paving of lot 4 of BR-156/AP Sul was also resumed. In Amapá, with a thousand kilometers of highways managed by DNIT, the increase went from 39% in 2022 to 75% in 2023.
The seven states of the Northern Region have a total of 13,858 kilometers of highways and more than 32,482 kilometers of waterways under the administration of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT). To take care of both modes (road and waterway), the municipality invested more than R$4.6 billion. The resource made it possible to carry out works and services that gave a leap in the quality of the region’s transport infrastructure.
