Nhandê is expected to debut later this year

Manaus (AM) – Written and directed by Begê Muniz and co-directed by Elisa Telles, Nhandê portrays the richness of Amazonian stories and celebrates the culture of the north of the country. Amazonian actor Thiago Jesus joins the cast and plays an “enchanted being” in the new short film from production company Jamary Films.

The film uses the surroundings of the Amazon Rainforest and ancestral culture as the central point of the story’s plot, addressing, through female protagonists, sensitive themes such as maturity, the preservation of original cultures and the transition from childhood to adolescence.

Nhandê brings elements of fantasy and adventure cinema, such as the short film “Jamary” which won 8 awards at more than 40 film festivals. The new film is expected to premiere later this year.

Synopsis

Nhandê is a film aimed at children and young people and tells the story of Sara (Maria Clara), a resident of the rural area of ​​Manaus, who helps her grandmother (Rosa Malagueta), a faith healer in the community, to carry out her spiritual treatments. Sara, following the influence of her best friend Carla (Maria Zen), begins to form an emotional relationship with other young people her age, however, the difficulty in dealing with this new phase of her life can cause her a trauma that, together with events Supernaturals alter your personality.
