NBA and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was injured in the game against the Chicago Bulls last Thursday, should not be a concern for the rest of the season. According to the English newspaper The Athletic, the Greek underwent further tests which revealed that he did not suffer any serious damage to his right wrist and will not miss the season.
After the injury, Giannis still participated in the NBA All-Star Game. The player made a basket early on, but left and guided his team off the court. There was even a risk of him not participating in the game.
His season return will be based on whether the wrist swelling subsides, according to the portal. Antetokounmpo suffered the injury with 10:55 left in the second quarter of the game, after trying to block a shot at the basket. Deadlines are not yet known, but he should be back to normal when he recovers.
The relief for the Bucks is that the team will have its star player at a crucial time in the season. Giannis is averaging 31.8 points and 12.2 rebounds per game this season for Milwaukee (41-17), who are second in the Eastern Conference behind the Celtics (42-17).
