Manaus (AM) — The river logistics arm of the Atem Group, Navemazônia is a confirmed presence at Navegestic Navalshore Amazônia, the largest naval and river logistics industry fair in the northern region of Brazil. The event takes place in Manaus, starting this Wednesday (10). The company set up a stand, where it shows its capacity to act in the Amazon rivers, and in particular, its decisive action during the historic drought of 2023 in the Amazon.

Navegestic Navalshore continues until next Friday (12/04), at the Vasco Vasques Convention Center, in the Chapada neighborhood, Central-South Zone of Manaus. Businesspeople, experts and authorities will participate in the event.

A reference in the waterway logistics sector, Navemazônia is responsible for transporting the fuel that supplies thermoelectric plants in Amazonian cities isolated from the National Interconnected System (SIN). To ensure the operation of these plants during the 2023 drought, the company set up a pioneering logistics structure, together with Distribuidora Atem and Refinaria da Amazônia (Ream).

“Despite the critical level of the rivers, which prevented the arrival of large ships in Manaus, our expertise allowed us to overcome these obstacles and ensure the supply of fuel in Amazonas. I am proud to say that our operation was decisive in this very dramatic moment for the people of Amazonas”,

says the Waterway Terminal Manager, Cícero Sabino Leite.

Navemazônia has a fleet of 50 tankers and 20 pushers, capable of storing 177 million liters of oil and oil products. The company also manages a waterway terminal for product movement, loading and unloading operations, among others.

The Atem Group is also present at Navegestic Navalshore with the DMN Shipyard. The company’s General Manager, Célio Ediel de Souza, will speak, on the 12th, about the shortage of specialized labor for shipbuilding.

An important fair for prospecting partnerships and strengthening market potential, Navalshore Amazônia should generate around R$350 million in business, according to the organizers.
