National Rodeo ends with performances that delight the public – News of Brazil

The National Rodeo of the 52nd Expofeira in Amapá ended on Saturday night, the 7th, with performances that moved the audience. The event, promoted by the State Government, was attended by ten competitors from different states in Brazil. The big winner of the night, who took home a motorcycle valued at R$ 15 thousand, was Gustavo Polli from Paraná.
“I have been rodeo for three years and for me it is very gratifying to come here at this beautiful party and become the champion. Everything is in God’s hands and I can only thank him”, said Gustavo.
The 23-year-old rider, from the city of Itaguajé, rode the Absoluto bull and managed a big turnaround in the classification. By the end of the semifinal, contested by the ten best competitors from the first phase, Gustavo was in 3rd place, but with a mount rated 86 in the grand final, which featured the five best from the previous phase, he managed to reach first place.
The best-ranked rider from Amapá in the competition was Jean Gonçalves, who was in 9th place, leaving the competition in the semi-final, but who managed to stay on top of the bull for 8 seconds. The rodeo’s official commentator, Francis Carlos, had a positive assessment of the quality of the event.
“In my opinion, it was one of the best rodeos ever here in Macapá, because, in addition to providing opportunities for competitors from Amapá, it also had the experience of competitors from the South, who are used to competing in rodeos every week, which increases the level of the event, after all people like it when pedestrians stop at the bull”, said Francis.
Also in the stands, the public response was very positive during the event. Vibrating a lot during the mounts and showing up in force for the last day of competitions. The CEO of Status Produções, Leonardo Lourenço, responsible for organizing the rodeo, was surprised by the number of people present at Arena Rio Amazonas.
“We imagined that the public would arrive closer to the time of the national show. And when we saw that the stands were full an hour before the rodeo started, it was sensational,” said Lourenço.
An example that illustrates this interest generated by the event was that of Leonardo Rosa, who, even though he was at Arena Amazonas to watch the Xand Avião show, said he was very impressed with the mounts on the last day of the National Rodeo.
“I had never seen a rodeo before and I really enjoyed it, the national riders showed that they really are of a high level”revealed Rosa.
To bring fun to the public, Clown Paçoca once again performed a separate show during breaks between rides. This time, the comedian from Mato Grosso brought new numbers to those present at the rodeo arena and said he was very flattered by the way he was received by the people of Amapá.
“It was a pleasure to be here at Expofeira, I’ve been coming here for 12 years, I’m very grateful to God. I’m very happy when I get close to people and they respond with the greatest affection, laughing, saying goodbye. This is very wonderful for an artist, the recognition of a work”said the clown.
