The Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) began to vacate this Thursday (27) farms invaded in the states of Espírito Santo and Bahia, among them the properties of the multinational Suzano, in which an agreement was signed last week.

According to the movement itself, the evictions took place peacefully. In Espírito Santo, Suzano’s properties had been invaded since the beginning of the month and Members were provisionally sent to an area 60 kilometers away.

On the property in the Chapada Diamantina region, in Bahia, the families left the invaded area at the end of March after a process of repossession, and camped on the side of a nearby highway.

Since the beginning of the year, the MST has carried out 32 invasions of private properties. Last Wednesday (26), federal deputies presented a crime report against João Pedro Stédile, one of the leaders of the movement, for inciting invasions in publications on social networks.

The MST is a historic supporter of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and has been the target of criticism from ministers for the invasions. Lula, on the other hand, has yet to comment on occupations of private properties.
