The Landless Workers Movement (MST) held this Wednesday (11) a “political-cultural” act in solidarity with the Palestinian people, in São Paulo. On Monday (9), the MST even issued a note reiterating its “total and unrestricted support for the struggle of the Palestinian people for their self-determination and against the apartheid policy implemented by Israel”.

However, the content was deleted from the movement’s official website this Tuesday (10), reported the Power360. Without mentioning Hamas, the statement mentioned the “Palestinian Resistance” which, according to the organization, acted “legitimately” against Israel. “To the brave Palestinian Resistance in Gaza: we will continue to support and defend the legitimate right of people to react against oppression!”, said the text.

The note was released two days after Israel declared war after being attacked last Saturday (7) by the extremist group Hamas based in Gaza. This afternoon’s act called for the “immediate end of the bombings and blockade of the Gaza Strip, the end of all Apartheid walls and the release of all Palestinian political prisoners”. “The program includes political greetings and a reading of the international situation from the perspective of the Palestinian community, in addition to artistic-cultural interventions throughout the activity”, said the MST on X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier, the group reported that other movements would also participate in the solidarity mobilization, such as the National Union of Students (UNE), the Central dos Trabalhadores do Brasil (CTB), the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS), the Coordination Nacional de Entidades Negras (Conen) and political parties such as PCdoB, PT, PCB, PCB-RR, with their respective youth groups.
