The MPF (Federal Public Ministry) sent this Wednesday (18) complaints against five people to the STF (Supreme Federal Court) as a result of coup attacks on the buildings of the three Powers. Four of them were arrested in flagrante delicto on the same Sunday (8) in which the acts took place.
The body points to the practice of crimes of armed criminal association, violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law, coup d’état and qualified damage against the Union’s property. He also cites qualified theft by breaking an obstacle and deterioration of listed property, all provided for in the Penal Code.
According to the MPF, as four defendants were detained at a time when the acts of vandalism were still being committed in the STF, the individualization of the conduct of each one and the collection of evidence were streamlined.
Those detained in the act were heard in a custody hearing and had their prison converted into preventive. The fifth defendant was caught on video holding a replica of the Federal Constitution that is on display in the building.
According to the MPF, investigations are ongoing and these same people may be charged with other crimes, such as criminal organization, terrorism and aggression against police officers and journalists, among others, depending on the results of the investigations.
